If you have a problem or query which you feel will be answered by speaking to the doctor on the telephone and does not require a face to face consultation, please phone the main surgery number and speak to reception. All the doctors have a designated time after morning surgery for telephoning patients, and they also have appointments at the start of their afternoon surgeries for phone calls. Please provide the receptionist with brief details of your enquiry (medication, test results etc), and also be sure to give the number where the doctor will be able to reach you at the appointed time. This can be a mobile number if this is more suitable for you.
Doctors
The doctors are always available for telephone advice after morning surgeries in both Perth and Methven. We ask that you ring the surgery and speak to one of the reception staff to request an appointment. They will ask brief details of the query (this allows the doctor to have any necessary information to hand), and will also ask for the phone number where the doctor can reach you. You may request to speak with a particular doctor, but it may not always be possible to accommodate these requests due to availability and emergency calls etc. Please note that the doctor will be phoning you, and not the other way round.
Telephone appointments are also available in the afternoons, prior to the start of surgeries.
Practice nurses
The practice nurses are always happy to give advice over the telephone when appropriate. The patient should phone reception and the staff will be able to make this appointment with the nurse. She will ask for brief details and for a phone number where you can be contacted at the appointed time.
Health visitors
The Health Visitors attached to the Practice have their own direct phone number - 01738 445949. This is the same number for Perth and Methven patients.
There is a voicemail facility on this number which allows you to leave a message if there is no reply.
District nurses
